Team:  Reablement Services Occupational Therapist 

Job Family: Supporting - CBG10

Salary: £38,476 - £40,069 per annum, pro rata + MRS £7,000 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract type: Hybrid - Permanent

More about the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Community/SUSD Services for an Occupational Therapist to join the Community Reablement Service in Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC).

The role involves:

  • Providing specialist therapy support to the Community Reablement Service and the Step Up/Step Down units at Evergreen and Redwood, with a focus on optimising physical function and promoting independence.
  • Undertaking assessment, planning, implementation, and ongoing review of individual goals and intervention plans.
  • Delivering passive and/or active treatment programmes as identified through assessment, and demonstrating these programmes to individuals and/or their carers to ensure safe and effective implementation.
  • Prescribing appropriate assistive equipment and technology-enabled care (TEC) solutions to support individuals in achieving their potential and maintaining safety.
  • Carrying out moving and handling assessments and providing guidance related to individuals receiving services.
  • Contributing to service development, including the promotion and integration of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy roles within the service.
  • Liaising with health and social care professionals regarding ongoing support plans, specific moving and handling requirements, and referrals to specialist services where appropriate.
