Accessibility and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines:
This accessibility statement applies to Central Bedfordshire Council's website - https://jobs.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk
This website is run by Central Bedfordshire Council for the purpose of providing job seekers the ability to search for information relating to employment with Central Bedfordshire Council; our culture and vision; our diversity; our rewards and benefits; our sustainability and to view and apply for our current jobs or join our talent community.
How accessible this website is:
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- Sighted users will be able to make a visual association between table headers and data cells. This context gives meaning to the data. However, screen reader users must rely on a programmatic relationship being made between header and data cells. As each data cell is read out, the relevant row or column header is also announced. In this way, the data has context.
- People who are colour-blind may be unable to find a link where the colour is its only distinguishing feature.

How we tested this website
This website is regularly tested by automated software, provided by Site Improve (siteimprove.com)
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Table cell missing context – WCAG2.1: Data tables contained within the web site include header and data cells arranged in a grid. Each data cell should be assigned to at least one column or row header cell to enable a screen reader to announce each data cell in context. We have shared feedback with SAP UK for them to consider more accessible ways to present the content.
Links are not clearly identifiable – WCAG 2.1: People who are colourblind may be unable to find a link where the colour is its only distinguishing feature. This is affecting every hyperlink on the web site where it pulls through from Central Bedfordshire Councils SAP system. We have shared feedback with SAP UK for them to consider more accessible ways for pulling through hyperlink data e.g. underlining or bolding the hyperlinks.
