Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum pro rata 
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week 
Base Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:
It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,200+ Council-owned homes with a growing Private Sector Property Management Portfolio. Find your greatness as an Accommodation Services Assistant. The team provides a wide range of services for the management of Licensees/Private Tenants, our aim is to help residents sustain their licence, find permanent accommodation and avoid long term homelessness.
Day-to-day you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the team and you will be the first point of contact for our customers; including applicants, tenants, internal colleagues, Housing Associations, Private landlords and all other housing providers. This is a customer service role in a fast-paced environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take their first steps into a tenancy/lettings/ building management role & who is motivated and focused on providing a first-class service to some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in Central Bedfordshire.
You will be able to demonstrate the following:-
• A basic knowledge of Housing Legislation and the benefits/welfare system.
• To progress a range of customer service tasks, some of which a particularly sensitive.
• To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Accommodation Services Team by developing and maintaining an excellent understanding of the Service.
• The role requires a good level of written and verbal communication and excellent I.T. skills.
• You will be expected to effectively manage financial resources and develop a basic knowledge of Central Bedfordshire Council’s procurement rules.
• The ability to use financial systems including the use of SAP and SRM, S4HANNAH.
• Flexibility to provide administrative cover where required.
You will be someone who puts the customer at the heart of everything they do & embeds equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery. You will be able to stay calm and focused under pressure and in volatile situations.
