Salary: £35,412 - £38,220 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week - with additional out of hours work on a rota basis, covering 24/7 for one week at a time
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,200+ Council-owned homes. The team provides a wide range of services for the management of Licensees/Private Tenants, our aim is to help residents sustain their licence, find permanent accommodation and avoid long term homelessness.
Day-to-day you will ensure effective management of licensees including rent collection and our schemes are safe and clean. You will assist in reducing accommodation costs to the council by proactively managing transitional accommodation placements, supporting households in maximising their opportunities for permanent settled accommodation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in a tenancy/building management role & who is motivated and focused on providing a first-class service to some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in Central Bedfordshire. You will be able to demonstrable the ability to make clear decisions under pressure using evidence and sound judgment and experience. You will be someone who works across boundaries to better understand customer perspective and seeks out customer insight to shape decisions. You will be someone who puts the customer at the heart of everything they do & embeds equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery. You will be able to stay calm and focused under pressure and in volatile situations.
You must have up to date knowledge of Housing Legislation, including anti-social behaviour and enforcement options. Ideally you will be educated to ‘O’ Level/GCSE standard, but equally important are the skills you already have and the experience you can bring to the role, alongside your willingness to learn and adapt to changing demands and manage your time.
