About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team at Central Bedfordshire Council. You’ll play a key role in transforming how we work — driving strategic and operational change, streamlining processes, and supporting smarter, data-led decisions that benefit both residents and stakeholders.
As our new Business Analyst, you'll be at the heart of organisational transformation. From engaging teams across the council to facilitating workshops and reimagining how services are delivered, you’ll help us work smarter — not harder.
In this role, you will:
- Lead on creation of requirements with stakeholders to uncover improvement opportunities.
- Analyse business processes and identify more efficient ways of working.
- Provide robust options analysis and cost-benefit assessments to guide key decisions.
- Create clear, actionable requirement specs and project documentation.
- Work with vendors and tech partners to understand digital trends.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure change initiatives deliver real benefits.
- Participate in projects, providing clarification and Business Analysis support where required.
About you:
You're a qualified Business Analyst with a flair for communication and a passion for problem-solving. You thrive in collaborative environments and know how to turn complex requirements into clear, deliverable actions.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Hold a recognised BA qualification (e.g. CBAP, IIBA).
- Ideally have experience within a local authority or public sector setting.
- Confident working with Microsoft 365 and digital collaboration tools.
- Bring a proactive mindset and a drive to deliver lasting impact.
- Be a great communicator and relationship builder – interpreting complex business requirements transforming them into business processes or IT solutions understood by all stakeholders
Why join our team?
At Central Bedfordshire Council, you’ll do work that matters. This is your chance to shape services that directly impact thousands of lives — all while developing your career in a forward-thinking, supportive environment.
