Business Support Officer

Team:  Business Support Team, Family Help  

Job family: Providing - CBG5

Salary: £25,583 - 25,989 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid - Fixed Term 12 months

About the role: 

 

Central Bedfordshire Council Family Help Service is excited to offer the opportunity for the role of Business Support Officer. You will be an experienced administrator joining a small, innovative and experienced team that is well-established in the Family Help Service. 

 

Our busy social work teams in the Family Help Service are responsible for providing support and protection to children and family’s in need. They work to keep children safe from harm and to fulfil their potential.  The Business Support Officers are an integral to the Family Help teams, providing comprehensive business and administrative support for meetings, carrying out financial administration, helping to ensure cost effective provision of resources, organising and providing administrative support to multi agency panels, recording decisions and sending out letters and minutes. 

 

You will be an experienced administrator, you will be used to working with a small team and have the emotional resilience to process information of a sensitive nature. Your role will be supporting our social work teams to support and safeguard vulnerable children and their families. You will need to evidence the following key skills in order to be successful in the role: 

  • A collaborative mindset, enjoy working with others to solve problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work independently, and able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Familiar with systems such as Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritise competing responsibilities.
  • Ability to work flexibly and enjoy working in fast changing environment.
