About the role

Are you an experienced community safety professional with a passion for leading teams, working in partnership and making a real difference to local communities? If so, find your greatness by joining us as a Community Safety Team Leader.

The Community Safety Team plays a key role in creating safer communities across Central Bedfordshire, tackling issues such as anti-social behaviour, serious violence, vulnerability, exploitation and environmental crime. As the Community Safety Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Community Safety Team, ensuring the effective delivery of community safety priorities, statutory duties and service objectives. You will support and develop staff, manage performance, and help deliver positive outcomes for residents.

You will oversee the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review process, ensuring statutory requirements are met and that victims receive a coordinated and effective response. You will also lead on issues relating to cuckooing, working with partner agencies to identify vulnerable residents and coordinate safeguarding interventions. Working closely with Bedfordshire Police, Fire and Rescue Service, housing providers and other partners, you will help develop effective responses to community safety issues across the area. You will use intelligence, performance information and local knowledge to identify emerging trends, support decision-making and ensure resources are targeted effectively.

You will have experience of leading or supervising staff within a community safety, enforcement, housing, policing, safeguarding or similar environment. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be confident managing complex cases, building partnerships and delivering results. Resilient and motivated, you will be committed to improving outcomes for residents and supporting safer communities through effective partnership working.
