Family Practitioner

Team: Family Help

Job Family: Supporting - CBG8
Salary: £31,022 - £33,851 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford & Grove View, Dunstable. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to become a Family Practitioner within our Family Help Team. The Family Help Team is locality based, covering Dunstable/Houghton Regis (South), Flitwick/Ampthill/Leighton Buzzard (West Mid Beds) and Biggleswade/Sandy/Shefford (Ivel Valley). The Family Help Team have positions in all localities for consideration. 

 

In Children and Families, we aim to give every child excellent care and a promising future. By supporting families and keeping children safe we are empowering them to thrive, grow up safely, achieve more, and be happy and healthy. Being a Family Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to support children who are in need of Early Help intervention and after completing specialist training you will be able to work with children who are supported by a Child in Need Plan (CIN). We are seeking Family Practitioners to join our progressive team, who are able to practice in a relationship-based way, evidence outstanding organisational skills and are child and family focused.

You will be supported in your work through regular reflective supervision, training and informal supervision as required. 

 

As part of your day-to-day role, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of children, visiting families, completing direct work with children to understand their views and lived experiences, chair multi-agency meetings and liaise with a range of other professionals to support our most vulnerable children. You will have the verbal communication skills to enable you to communicate effectively with children, parents and other agencies, and the written skills to present high-quality assessments and record keeping. Relationship based practice is key to the role, and working alongside families is our passion. We pride ourselves on our small teams and manageable caseloads, allowing workers to undertake meaningful practice with children and their families to support with sustained positive change.
