Salary: £44,711 - £49,764 per annum pro rata + £5,500 Market Rate Supplement (MRS) per annum pro rata (MRS is fixed term and subject to review)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:
This is your chance to find your own personal greatness in a role where you will be responsible for the management and delivery of a variety of projects on behalf of Central Bedfordshire Council’s Housing Service. The Housing Property Delivery Team provides a wide range of services to our residents. As a Housing Delivery Client you will be responsible for client-side management of projects to deliver much needed homes through new build and remodelling/conversion, critical health and safety remedial works to existing stock and completion of building improvement programmes.
We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic individual able to take the lead on projects. Candidates must be comfortable working at pace, with strict deadlines - both independently and as part of an extended team - to drive forward an ambitious delivery programme.
As part of this Housing Delivery Client role, you will:

define, manage and deliver infill, complex conversion and renovation projects using project management methodologies
-
establish effective project governance and documentation
-
identify, assess and manage project risks and issues and ensure lessons learned are reviewed and used to improve service delivery
-
create, allocate and co-ordinate project tasks and work packages
-
define requirements in sufficient detail to enable the project to be specified, designed and tendered
-
complete stakeholder engagement and produce communication plans
-
manage contracts with contractors and consultants from procurement stage to post-completion
-
work with construction experts and specialists to ensure the contractor delivers the works in accordance with the specification and contract.

ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations.

be responsible for the project budget, including monitoring, forecasting and spend

hold a project management or other relevant qualification or can demonstrate equivalent experience

can demonstrate experience working in a relevant development or construction delivery environment (ideally in social housing)

can evidence skills in contract management and construction project management

are a highly organised and solution-focused individual

have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
-
can demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with teams within the council and with external partners

have a passion for improving outcomes for the residents of Central Bedfordshire
