Salary: £52,413 - £56,675 per annum pro rata + Market Rate Supplement £5,500 per annum pro rata 

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

 

It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service.

 

The Housing Delivery Manager (Decent Homes) role is opportunity within the Housing Directorate to deliver the improvement programme across our housing stock of some 5,600+ homes within Central Bedfordshire, ensuring our homes are safe, and homes meet our statutory obligations to achieve and maintain the Decent Homes Standard.

 

Working within the Housing Planned Works Team, the position will report to the Housing Planned Works Manager, overseeing the management of a surveying team, contractors and specialist consultants, ensuring effective planning, preparation, and supporting the procurement of resources to deliver capital investment across our housing stock.

 

The successful postholder will manage the effective delivery of improvements across our homes, collaboratively working with Housing colleagues to maintain safe homes, meeting the Decent homes Standard, to ensure all our homes are in a reasonable state of repair, to support and deliver our legislative and Housing Regulatory obligations.

 

You will be someone who puts the customer at the heart of everything they do & embeds equality and diversity in all aspects of the Housing Services delivery.

  

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Degree or HND in Building Surveying or Construction Management, or related discipline/ or qualified by extensive relevant experience in Housing / Property and planned works contract delivery. 
  • Knowledge of the Decent Homes Standard, HHRSR and Landlord responsibilities. 
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of planning and building regulation principles and CDM requirements
  • A sound understanding of construction contract administration - Ensuring corrective action is taken if a contractor’s performance is lacking or if there are risks and issues relating to project delivery.
  • An understanding of stakeholder management along with strong communication skills
  • Knowledge in investment, repairs, maintenance, quality and performance standards
