Salary: £39,152 – £40,777 per annum pro rata
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. We are seeking a proactive Housing Operations Officer to help shape the future of Housing Services at Central Bedfordshire Council. Working across operations, housing regulation, and process improvement, you will play a key role in helping us improve services for more than 5,700 households. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, simplifying processes, and using data to inform decisions.
What you'll be doing
- Your focus will be on delivering efficiency, productivity and service standards, scale at pace, and support with system-based processes enabling our customers to self serve 24/7. Working with the team to structure, automate and document our processes, making the Housing Service future fit.
You will deliver refined operational processes and procedures across the Housing service.
- Co-ordinate and deliver a spectrum of operational duties that will improve services for residents. This will include researching, scoping, planning, and implementing housing regulatory related projects.
You will put customers at the centre of service delivery.
- Support the preparation of funding applications and business cases to secure external funding opportunities. Ensure all information is audit compliant. Attend consultations, site meetings and Council meetings as required. Making sure that our internal stakeholders receive good Service Level Agreements; to maintain quality, and on time updates.
You will diagnose reported business issues, and identify solutions, and deliver these using government funding applications as required.
In this role you will:
- Improve operational processes across Housing Services.
- Support compliance with housing regulatory requirements.
- Use data and insight to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help deliver service improvements that enhance the resident experience.
- Support projects that improve efficiency and value for money.
Relevant technical skills
Experience working within a Housing environment in an operational, service improvement or business support role. Experience of implementing change, improving processes and using data to support decision-making would be advantageous.
Desirable skills:
- Experience of process improvement or service redesign.
- Ability to use data and insight to support decision-making.
- Experience of implementing operational improvements.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Useful but not a prerequisite:
- Process improvement and automation
