More about the role:

An opportunity has arisen to join the Independent Living Team as Team Leader. The Team provides both housing related support and a housing management function to the CBC Independent Living Schemes, as well as providing a tenure neutral community alarm service. The role plays a vital part in delivering safe, well-managed buildings and ensuring residents feel heard, supported and respected, tailoring our service delivery to the needs and aspirations of customers.

This Team Leader role directly supports our ambition to provide high quality, customer focused housing services that reflect the tenant voice and meet the Consumer Standards for social housing. As we review and evolve how we deliver our services, you will help us find our greatness by leading a team that makes a real and measurable difference to people’s homes and lives.

You will be a key player in the development of ideas, processes and procedures to support the team in achieving its objectives; guiding team members and assisting the Service Manager to ensure our customers receive a high-quality service and remain safe in their homes. This includes monitoring the delivery of care within our schemes and working in partnership with our care provider. The service model is rooted in prevention and contributes towards efficiencies and savings for Social Care and Health, identifying those at risk in the community before crisis. We are responsible for the wellbeing of residents and visitors, including those customers accessing activities within the buildings in their capacity as local ‘community hubs’

You will provide clear leadership, direction and support to your team, ensuring performance is monitored and cases are managed effectively. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will use data, feedback and insight to identify areas for improvement and drive tangible service enhancements. You will oversee complex or high-risk cases; support partnership working and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and good practice. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will balance operational oversight with a strong focus on continuous improvement and positive outcomes for residents.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in leading a team of professionals and be able to motivate others to perform and achieve the key performance levels required. You will bring excellent communication skills, sound judgement, the ability to display and create resilience and be able to deal with varied service delivery requirements and competing priorities, maintaining a ‘One Team’, Whole System’ approach whilst keeping residents at the heart of your decisions.

A recognised housing qualification, such as CIH Level 4 or above (or equivalent), is preferred, however we are committed to supporting ongoing professional development and upskilling.
