Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

About the role:
The Bedfordshire Employment and Skills Academy seeks to develop and deliver services that support adults, young people and businesses improve their skills levels, get people into work or further training, and support economic growth.
We are pleased to be expanding our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) team. This is a rewarding role, supporting residents into employment, learning, and achieving positive outcomes via the National Careers Service.
As an IAG advisor, you will meet residents of Bedfordshire who require information, advice and guidance into employment or with career progression. You will undertake 1:1 and group appointments both face-to-face across the county, and online using Microsoft Teams. It is likely many of these appointments will be in the Bedford and Biggleswade area.
You will work with a range of stakeholders including; the Department for Work and Pensions, local Job Centres, training providers and businesses. You’ll need to have good communication skills and show a passion in supporting others to reach their employment and learning goals. You may attend outreach events across the county to share our offer.
You will have excellent teamwork and organisation skills to be able to work in this fast-paced service.
Due to nature of this role you must be able to confidently use IT programmes, e.g. Microsoft packages. You will also be required to have a good level of written English skills, in order to write action plans, CV’s and communicate with customers.
Due to the nature of this role, a full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own car is essential.
Whilst past experience of providing careers information, advice and guidance is not essential, transferable skills or experience in related areas is e.g. supporting others, providing information, advice and guidance, recruitment, administration, or customer service is essential.
This post will require you to train towards a Level 4 IAG qualification. If you already hold this qualification, it is recommended you apply for this post, as there is a possibility that we can progress with a qualified position, instead of a trainee position.
