Salary: £53,861 - £57,328 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

With 12 libraries, Arlesey Resource Centre, and a housebound service we have a visible and physical presence across Central Bedfordshire and strongly support the delivery of our Vision and Strategic Plan. Libraries are trusted community spaces, providing easy access to information and excellent signposting and referral services, giving support to local communities to help themselves, to connect with others and to become more engaged with their communities.
The library service provides support for literacy, learning, personal development and cultural activities, with modern digital and online services. We are focused on working with partners and other public services to deliver more from our buildings and explore opportunities for joined-up working, delivering value for money and ensuring the service is relevant and responsive to our customers.
As the Libraries Service Manager you will be an experienced manager of customer facing services, passionate about public service and care strongly about our communities and the role library services can play in their lives. You will be an effective leader of the library service influencing, undertaking business planning, staff and resource management to £3m per annum and will manage the shared service arrangements for the Library Hub and Virtual Library, and the Archives Service
This role requires extensive experience in managing resources including budget management, staff and volunteers and partnership arrangements in a public facing service. It will need a highly motivated individual who can lead and manage a large team to develop and implement plans which deliver the Library Services Strategy
The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have significant experience in the operation and management of library and information management roles previously.
