You’ll need to be able to prioritise your own workload, take ownership of issues to resolve them, and work well under pressure. Excellent customer service skills will be required, along with great attention to detail. The Licensing Team deal with many different types of applications, including taxi licences, pub and restaurant licences, temporary events, betting shops and street traders, amongst others. Each day will be varied, and you’ll need to be able to adapt to the demand of the service.

An understanding of the legislations mentioned above would be helpful but not essential as full training will be provided. Experience in an administration role would also be advantageous. The salary offered will depend on an applicant's licensing experience. Those with no previous experience working in Licensing will start at the bottom grade. The Licensing Admin Officer role offers an opportunity to move up through the salary grades as experience is gained, using our competency framework.
