MNET English Teacher

Team: Medical Needs Education Team

Salary: MPS to UPS 3 £31,650 - £49,084 per annum pro rata plus SEND allowance £2,679 annum pro rata
Hours: 15 hours per week 0.6 ( 3 days a week)

Base Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

Contract Type: Hybrid – Fixed term maternity leave cover – 10 Months

About the role

A fantastic opportunity to join the Medical Needs Education Team; a team dedicated to making a difference to the lives of young people who are unable to attend school due to illness.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a passionate team of experienced and driven teachers, who work collaboratively to ensure that all young people achieve the best possible educational outcomes and reach their potential. We are a child centred team who hold wellbeing policy at the heart of all that we do and therefore we place an emphasis on offering superb professional development and support to all members of the team.

Your role will be to teach and inspire KS3 and KS4 young people in English; personalising their learning to meet their medical needs and SEND and motivating these students to achieve despite their considerable personal challenges.  Lessons are 1:1 and will take place in a range of locations including homes, libraries and small rooms in school, depending on the young person’s needs. In addition, each student you teach will be assigned a MNET keyworker who you will liaise regularly with to aid reintegration, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient individual who has a passion for seeing young people succeed. You need to be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work flexibly and independently. You will also need to be an excellent teacher of English to GCSE. Experience of AQA, Edexcel and other English GCSE specifications is advantageous.

Qualified to degree level with qualified teacher status and several years teaching experience, you will have a full UK driving licence and the ability to drive to travel as part of the role. Previous experience of working in a SEND/ pastoral role would be an advantage.
