About the role
There’s more than one reason why we believe Central Bedfordshire is a great place to live and work. Our attractive market towns and beautiful villages surrounded by stunning countryside, all boosted by a prime location, great transport links and a high performing economy are all part of what makes us great.
We work hard to enable Central Bedfordshire to grow and thrive in a safe and sustainable way. We want to make our area a great place to live and work, and somewhere companies choose to invest.
Join our Building Control team as a Class 2 A–F Registered Surveyor and play a key role in delivering safe, compliant buildings across a diverse mix of urban and rural projects. You’ll enjoy a flexible, hybrid working environment, with a blend of site visits, local hubs and home working, while collaborating with a supportive team and a wide range of partners.
This role is also a chance to make a lasting impact on the profession, with two new LGA Pathway to Planning (Surveying) graduates joining us in September 2026, you’ll also mentor and support the next generation of Building Control Surveyors, helping them build the skills and experience they need to succeed
You will ideally have a degree (or equivalent qualification and experience) in Building Control Surveying or a related subject and be a member of a relevant professional institute. You will also have building control experience, strong communication skills and can show experience and evidence of working on a range of domestic projects in line with your registration. We offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements, but there is an expectation that the postholder will be able to regularly, probably daily, visit sites across the CBC area.
