About the role:
The Money Management team forms part of the Customer Finance Service and provides vital financial management support to adult social care customers who have been assessed under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 as lacking the capacity to manage their own finances. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Money Management Officer to lead and support the Money Management team in delivering a responsive, customer-focused and effective service.
This position requires effective engagement and collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers, their representatives, social care professionals and partner organisations, to achieve the best possible outcomes for Central Bedfordshire residents.
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring that customers' finances are administered appropriately, sensitively and in accordance with Council policies, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection guidance. You will support and develop team members, monitor service performance and help drive continuous improvement.
You will be a highly organised and self-motivated individual with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a complex and often sensitive environment. You will possess strong leadership, communication and financial management skills, together with the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and guidance to resolve complex issues and support vulnerable customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality services, leading a dedicated team and making a positive difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents. The successful candidate should have experience/knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and experience in the role of a Deputy or Appointee. They should also have experience managing finances on behalf of someone else.
