Senior Customer Finance Officer

Team: Blue Badge & Money Management Team

Job Family: SupportingM - CBG9
Salary: £34,811 - £37,562 per annum pro rata
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week

Base Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid – 6 months Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity

More about the role:

The Blue Badge and Money Management team is part of the Customer Finance team and processes applications under the Blue Badge scheme for disabled people and provides money management support to our adult social care customers who have been assessed under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 as lacking capacity to manage their own finances.

 

An opportunity has arisen to join us as a Senior within the Blue Badge and Money Management team on a part time basis to ensure the team deliver a responsive and effective service.

 

The role will require you to manage the day to day running of the team to ensure disabled car badges are appropriately issued in accordance with the Department of Transport’s guidance and that our money management customer’s finances are appropriately managed in accordance with the Council’s policies and Court of Protection guidance.

 

The role includes engagement and collaboration with numerous internal and external stakeholders, delivering the best outcomes on behalf of Central Bedfordshire’s residents.

 

You will be self-motivated and able to effectively manage conflicting and competing priorities. You will have excellent communication skills to liaise with our customers or their representatives and demonstrate good leadership skills. This role is complex and can often be working in situations where the approach is not straightforward and requires careful consideration of the legislation and guidance.
