Salary: £49,875 - £53,861 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role. It is expected that you will attend the office on average once a week.

About the Role:
As an Estates Surveyor at Central Bedfordshire Council, you will play a vital role in managing and maximizing the potential of a commercial property portfolio. The portfolio is varied and interesting with a mix of building and land types.
You will undertake a range of estate and asset management duties relating to the Council’s operational, investment and non-operational premises, including landlord and tenant matters such as lease negotiations, rent reviews and renewals, and service charge management. You will be required to manage relationships with external bodies including agents, consultants and contractors.
You will contribute directly to the effective delivery of the estate and asset management service and assist in the development of appropriate systems and methods to ensure its success. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in areas of mutual interest to enable a successful service delivery will be a key responsibility. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative team, where no day is the same.
Experience and skills:
- A degree or equivalent in Estate Management, Property Management, or another relevant subject.
- Good knowledge of Landlord and Tenant law.
- Experience in Estate Management, including negotiating commercial rent reviews and leases.
- The ability to negotiate lease agreements.
- The ability to provide expert advice and reports.
- Strong communications skills.
- Ideally you will be a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
