Senior Housing Compliance Manager

Team: HSS - Housing Compliance

Salary: £60,204 - £65,493 per annum pro rata + MRS £5,500 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

 

As the Senior Housing Compliance Manager, you will have overall responsibility for compliance and safety services related to the Council’s housing assets (e.g. legionella, mitigating fire risk, asbestos, etc.). 

 

You will have a background in building safety and property compliance management enabling you to take responsibility for ensuring that the Council’s property management systems and controls are effective and robust, and that the Council is fully compliant with all Landlord obligations, relevant laws, regulations and quality standards of the Regulator of Social Housing and the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023.

 

Reporting to the Head of Housing Property, you will manage a team of technical staff, contractors and consultants contributing to the monitoring and maintenance of health and safety requirements. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach to the delivery of corporate and housing priorities and projects along with:

 

  • Developing a Housing Compliance Strategy that considers all legal and regulatory obligations, outlines overall objectives, and the actions needed to achieve and evidence delivery of the objectives.
  • Introducing and developing new and/or better methods of delivering building compliance and safety.
  • Identifying issues and preparing policy documents and reports and, if appropriate attend and represent the interests of the Housing Service at committees, scrutiny meetings or any task group or working group.
  • Ensuring compliance performance is consistently measured and monitored to provide assurance, scrutiny, and challenge.
  • Overseeing internal and external audit for compliance areas that provides independent assurance that residents are safe.
