Our new, dedicated Reunification Team will work closely with children and young people who are cared for by the Local Authority, their families and professional working with them. The role will be very varied, no two days will look the same and you will work closely alongside all our teams in the Corporate Parenting Service to ensure our children in care have the opportunity to live within their family network where we are able to achieve this safely for them.
Relationship based practice sits at the core of everything we do by working with children, families and their natural networks to build on their strengths. Our workforce told Ofsted that they enjoy working for Central Bedfordshire and feel well supported by visible and caring managers and senior leaders and Ofsted also recognised the level of support available through a wide range of relevant training and development opportunities which help our practitioners undertake reflective and effective quality work with children and their families and networks.
As a Senior Practitioner you will have line management responsibility for the dedicated Reunification Team consisting of a Social Worker and two Reunification Practitioners. You will report to the Head of Corporate Parenting but work closely with our Corporate Parenting Service Manager. You will be supporting the team to deliver reunification activity closely aligned to the evidence-based NSPCC Reunification Framework. A working knowledge of the framework is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Our ideal candidate will have confidence in planning, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating interventions and plans to ensure great outcomes for children. Being responsible for achieving and supporting permanence planning for Children in Care, you will be skilled in developing and maintaining working relationships with children, young adults and the networks around them, ensuring support planning is specific to their needs and wishes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate and committed practitioners who recognise that our Children in Care and Care Experienced Community are at the heart of everything we do.
Please be advised that having access to your own transport and willingness to travel is an essential requirement for this role as well as holding a social work qualification and SWE registration
