About the role:

- As a Day Care Officer, you will work closely with the people that access the service jointly in the preparation, delivery and evaluation of sessions that continue to develop each person in a positive and meaningful way.
- By supporting the people of the Biggleswade Adult Centre to find their greatness, you can find yours too and contribute to our overall aim of ‘creating opportunities for our customers to grow’.
- Day Care Officers are responsible for Session Planning, keeping Support Plans and Risk Assessments up to date for each individual in their key group. They also, on occasions, work closely with other agencies (such as Health Professionals and Social Workers) as well as families and carers.
- During the day you will be required to support with toileting and changing, eating and drinking, exercise and medication, accessing the community, attend staff training or meetings at other venues.

Who are we looking for:
- We are looking to speak to proactive, empathetic, adaptable and flexible people with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with people with learning disabilities.
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is essential alongside the ability to deliver a range of sessions.
- Ideally you will need to be IT literate, able to write reports, use your initiative and think on your feet and have a full driving licence as we have a minibus for offsite activities.
- You will actively seek opportunities for the people that attend and be willing to try new ideas and approaches.
