Salary: £39,769 - £42,922 per annum pro rata + MRS of £7,000 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend Grove View, Dunstable Office location on a minimal monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

 

The South Locality Older Adults Team is a highly professional Adult Social Care Team working across the Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard areas of Central Bedfordshire.

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Practitioner to join our busy and multi-skilled Adult Community Assessment and Review Team. The Team practices at the cutting edge of Adult Social Care with a strong focus on improving customer outcomes in a strength based, person centred way. You will have skills that help us achieve the delivery of excellent person-centred approaches. You will value sound evidence-based practice and understand that best practice results in best value. You will know the importance of enabling people to be supported to be as independent as possible for as long as possible and that having a strong connection with local services and communities can make a real difference to people's lives and overall wellbeing.

 

The successful candidate must have a recognised social work qualification and be currently registered with Social Work England. You will also have a minimum of three years post qualifying practice and experience. Your values will demonstrate excellent social work skills in practice and professional pride.

 

This Senior Practitioner post is key in supporting and developing the day-to-day operation of the team and supporting the team managers in overseeing the continuous approach we have to improving and developing our practice. Working alongside your peers, you will be responsible for managing a small case load including s42 safeguarding work and complex case work; ensuring the timely and proportionate allocation of work within the team; and providing supervision, support and guidance to staff.  In return, Central Bedfordshire Council supports the workforce to operate in an agile manner by providing modern IT equipment as well as generous annual leave, local government pension scheme, regular supervision, support to develop and ongoing training. Your role will combine some office-based working and working from home.
