We’re totally focussed on helping to improve their lives and making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live and work. This is a great time to join us on our journey.

More about the role:

The South Locality Community Assessment Team for Older Adults is a highly dedicated Adult Social Care Team working across the Dunstable, Houghton Regis, and Leighton Buzzard areas of Central Bedfordshire. We are looking for a Team Manager to lead our skilled Adult Social Care team to maximise people’s independence by practicing in a person centred, strength-based manner with a strong focus on improving people’s outcomes.

Do you have the skills to lead a busy, skilled Adult Social Care team whose focus is to listen to people, understanding their needs, and supporting people to be as independent as possible? As a Team Manager, working in a supportive management team, this role provides an opportunity to really make a difference and ensure we can engage people within their communities, and to ensure that they have the support they need to attain maximum independence.

You will be working in partnership with citizens, communities, stakeholders, and other organisations to offer an integrated approach to service delivery. Supporting your team to ensure they feel their contribution makes a difference and that service areas reflect the council values and are delivering quality support and service excellence.

About You:

In addition to holding a professional qualification and registration (social work, nursing or allied health professional), you will need to have experience of managing a frontline adult social care team, supervising others and be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of Adult Social Care statutory requirements. You will be able to demonstrate leadership, management skills, and good practice governance, ensuring compliance with key health and social care legislation. You will be required to manage team activity to ensure positive outcomes are achieved for people, whilst ensuring that best value and evidence-based practice is demonstrated by the team.  You will need to ensure you have a strong focus on partnership working and the ability to work with a busy team, whilst not compromising quality.

Working for us, you can expect to be valued for your positive and dynamic leadership skills, be assisted to continue to develop within a supportive learning environment and operate within a ‘can do’ culture.

Our staff are important to us, we undertake regular staff surveys and encourage a culture of open and honest dialogue as well as a service led ‘thank you’ scheme where we recognise the great work our colleagues do.  Some recent quotes from our new starters are below:

‘It really is a lovely place to work as people care, there is a feeling of being valued by managers and colleagues. The support I have had from the management team, Seniors and all my colleagues has been amazing. Their knowledge base is excellent.’

‘It is a culture of learning and respect for each other’s skills. The training I have attended so far has been amazing, particularly the Safeguarding adults, Safeguarding Investigations, and risk assessment training.’

This spring we will have access to the new Integrated Health and Care Hub in Dunstable where we will have dedicated office space with NHS and other colleagues, and where we can work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary manner to ensure residents receive services that are seamless and work for them.
