Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

The Inspiring Music team actively supports Central Bedfordshire Council's ambition to provide high-quality, inclusive music education, helping children find their greatness through musical expression. The team fosters a vibrant and creative community, and the Data and Admin Coordinator role is pivotal in ensuring these services reach schools and residents effectively, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to young people's musical journeys while developing administrative skills in a dynamic, fulfilling environment.
As our Data and Admin Coordinator you will be the first point of contact for our customers as well as our teaching team, being the confident, knowledgeable and friendly voice at the end of the phone and the wordsmith when responding to the wide variety of requests received daily in the service’s inbox.
The role is key to keeping our database and records up to date as well as enrolling students to the many lessons we offer and liaising with our music tutors to ensure all students enrolled receive lessons.
You will need to develop an in depth understanding of our database to be able to record a wide range of information correctly and produce a variety of reports the service requires.
Your numeracy and analytical skills will be called upon when checking and reconciling claims and invoices submitted by our team of self-employed tutors.
You will also be involved in the organisation and the running of our events which allow our students to showcase the work they have been doing.
This role requires the use of many IT based software and a solid knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel. The ability to problem-solve and very strong organisational skills are essential.
We welcome applicants with a minimum of A-level, NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications to apply. Training on our database, SpeedAdmin will be provided. Excellent command of the English language, good customer and listening skills as well as patience are of crucial importance when answering the phone and responding to customers queries over the phone. Good numeracy skills are essential to reconciling and vetting invoices submitted by our team of self-employed teachers.
As this role is very varied, very strong organisational and multi-tasking skills are required.
