Salary: £26,421 – £28,770 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

The Inspiring Music team actively supports Central Bedfordshire Council's ambition to provide high-quality, inclusive music education, helping children find their greatness through musical expression. By delivering resources, organising enriching events, and maintaining access to instruments and sheet music, the team fosters a vibrant, creative community. The Resources and Activities Coordinator role is pivotal in ensuring these services reach schools and residents effectively, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to young people's musical journeys while developing both practical and administrative skills in a dynamic, fulfilling environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Procuring, maintaining, and delivering musical instruments to schools and venues.
- Organising engaging events that inspire and enrich our community.
- Cataloguing and loaning sheet music to ensure our resources are available to local schools, music groups and orchestras.
- Conducting stock takes and maintaining precise records.
- Contribute to data returns to Arts Council England and the DfE
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills to manage the varied aspects of this role. You should enjoy both manual tasks and administrative work and be able to communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences, from music tutors to schools and parents.
The key requirements for the role are
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- A willingness to learn new skills and proactively seek information.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- Physical capability to handle a large volume of musical instruments.
- Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of music and musical instruments would be an advantage, but we would consider candidates with strong transferable skills willing to learn.
