Education Advisor (Virtual School)

Team: VSL - Virtual School

Job Family: Advising - CBG 9

Salary: £34,811 - £37,562 per annum pro rata
Hours:37 hours per week, Term time only

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

This a fantastic, rare opportunity to join a small but effective team who work tirelessly to promote the educational achievement of children in care, previously looked after and all children with a social worker. Find your greatness in making a difference to the lives of our most vulnerable children. The role of the Education Advisor will work directly with schools, foster carers and social workers ensuring that our vulnerable learners access high quality educational provision. 

  

As an Education Advisor will be expected to be educated to GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, ideally with higher education qualifications. Candidates will need to have experience of working with Designated Teachers and other professionals who support children who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties or who are disaffected either in school or a social services setting through professionals and Personal Education Plan meetings. 

  

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to identify priorities for improvement of LAC attainment and provide advice and support to develop practice through experience of knowing the target setting process in schools as well have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of professionals verbally, in writing and using ICT.
