CCTV Team Leader

Salary: £41,042 - £44,296 per annum pro rata

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking CCTV Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day delivery of our CCTV service. You will lead a team of SIA licensed officers, ensuring a high-quality, compliant and professional service for customers and partners.

Alongside operational management, you will drive service improvements, embrace new technologies and support the continued development of a modern, intelligence-led CCTV service. You will be a key point of contact for stakeholders, oversee performance, and help ensure the service’s financial sustainability through effective income and expenditure management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and develop the CCTV team
  • Ensure the service operates in line with legislation, codes of practice and Council priorities
  • Oversee the CCTV system, control room software, and digital infrastructure
  • Identify opportunities to adopt new technologies and generate additional income
  • Support system upgrades, suppliers and technical troubleshooting
  • Act as a main contact for customers, partners and Council services
  • Monitor performance to ensure agreed service standards are met
  • Drive service improvement and support growth
  • Manage budgets and monitor income and expenditure
  • Work with Community Safety colleagues and partner agencies

 

About You

You will be a confident, well-organised individual with experience in an operational or regulatory environment and an interested in developing your leadership skills. You will be comfortable working with customers, supporting service delivery and managing financial responsibilities.

You will understand CCTV operations, data protection, and working within legal and regulatory frameworks. You will be commercially aware, comfortable with technology, and confident in engaging with suppliers to improve systems and enhance service delivery.

You will be forward-thinking, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation, service improvement and growth. You will have strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of CCTV and be confident using ICT.

Experience of supervising staff is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will hold a valid SIA CCTV Operators license or be willing to work towards obtaining one.
