Planning Assistant / Apprentice

Team:Planning Delivery 

Job Family:Advising – CBG4-6
Salary: £24,796 - £28,142 per annum pro rata
Hours: Full-time, 37hours per week 

Current Base Location:You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than twice per month. 

Contract Type:Permanent/ Apprenticeship

More about the role

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates who are interested in exploring a career in planning. It’s a newly created role which would allow you to develop the essential skills required to be a Planner. You will work across all areas within Planning Delivery to understand the planning process, from registering applications to dealing with householder applications, and investigating complaints when things go wrong, with our Enforcement Team. The work will be varied and allow you to gain essential experience in all areas.

 

You don’t have to have any work experience in planning, but you will need to have at least 3 ‘A’ Levels or equivalent. As part of the role, you will receive funding and support enabling you to study for a relevant qualification to help you become a Planner.

 

You will need to have a current valid driving licence and access to a car as travel is essential.
