About the role:
Fleet Transport Services provides daily dedicated door to door service for elderly clients and children with special needs.

Find your greatness by joining our Non-Emergency Patient Transport Team (NEPT) as one of our Relief Ambulance Care Assistants. You’ll support non-emergency patients by providing first class, safe care during their transportation between home and Schools or college. We also transport to hospitals and outpatient appointments when needed.
Main responsibilities for this role are :
The safe and caring supervision of our passenger whilst travelling on our vehicles between home and their destination.
You will work closely with the driver as a team to ensure they are aware of any issues that occur in the rear of the vehicle. You will ensure all passengers are safely secured in the vehicle prior to it moving, including those travelling in crash tested wheelchairs
Being able to remain calm under pressure is key, as is being willing to undertake training to broaden your knowledge of medical and mental health conditions. A flexible, adaptable approach is required as every day will be different.
You’ll be able to read, write and speak English fluently and be able to understand and follow policies and procedures supplied to you. The majority of our passengers have a variety of higher medical needs than most passengers. As such you will be provided with training in First aid At work, Seizure training, administration of certain prescribed medication under NHS supervision and suction machine training. You will receive Passenger assistant training covering the safe use of Ramps, winches,hydraulic passengrer lifts and assisting people on and off our vehicles. In addition to this you will be required to complete Mandatory Training over several subjects including, Cyber Security, GDPR & Data Protection, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity,and Fraud awareness.
This is a Relief NEPT Care Assistant role so will mainly be to support the Team where needed at Sandy Depot, Beamish close, SG19 1SD to cover absences including annual leave and sickness.
