Accommodation Services Officer

Team:  Accommodation Services 

Job Family: Providing - CBG9
Salary: £34,811 - £37,562 per annum pro rata

Hours: 30 hours per week and 18.5 Hours per week

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role 

Contract Type:  Hybrid. 18.5 hours per week Permanent or 30 hours per week Fixed Term Contract/ Secondment Opportunity Maternity cover up to 12 months

About the Role

The Accommodation Services Team delivers key functions within a multi‑million‑pound Housing Service, including lettings, transitional accommodation and tenancy/licence management across Central Bedfordshire.

 

You will manage your own caseload, working directly with customers to assess need, manage risk and develop practical, customer‑focused pathways into permanent accommodation. You will also support the operational delivery of lettings and allocations across social and private housing providers.

 

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their housing expertise, broaden their experience within Social Care, Health & Housing, and play a direct role in improving outcomes for residents.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for customers accessing accommodation services
  • Manage lettings, allocations and day‑to‑day housing management activity
  • Support residents to sustain their accommodation placements
  • Ensure health & safety compliance, rent collection and property standards
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external housing providers
  • Create lettings adverts, manage lettings days and verify suitable allocations
