About the role
The Youth Support Service provides a wide range of services to support young people to achieve their potential and personal, social and economic success. Services include provision of youth work, youth participation, the development and provision of careers education, information, advice and guidance (IAG) and engagement and tracking. We are committed to working in collaboration with young people to ensure they have a voice. We pride ourselves on being a young person led service working alongside them and partners, to support them in achieving their aspirations and goals.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual who has a confident telephone manner and is passionate about supporting young people to get back into employment, education or training (EET). Ideally you would have an interest or experience in providing information, advice and guidance and have a willingness to develop this key skill.
You will use your excellent communication skills to contact young people, parents or guardians by phone to identify the young person’s current situation in relation to EET and encouraging them to access the relevant information to support their career progression. You will also communicate with young person by email and text. This role involves a high volume of daily calls, so confidence and resilience is key.
You should be able to demonstrate a track record of engaging with young people over the telephone or have a telesales background or similar customer focused roles. You will also need to demonstrate strong data processing skills and attention to detail as the role involves inputting data on a client caseload management system.
