Customer and Operations Officer

Team:DEI - Customer and Operations (Planning Technical Support) 

Job Family: Providing - CBG6

Salary: £26,403 to £28,142 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid - Fixed Term/ Secondment Until 14/10/2027

About the role:

We are continually improving our working practices allowing us to provide a great service to those involved with the planning application process. Working as part of a busy team as a Customer and Operations Officer you will provide high level technical support to Planning, Planning Enforcement, Planning Appeals and Specialist areas including Listed Buildings and Protected Trees, developing skills & knowledge to assist customers and colleagues. 

 

Key responsibilities of the Customer and Operations Officer will include: 

·        Logging applications, enquiries, and customer responses onto IT systems 

·        Becoming familiar with the databases and records we keep and help maintain them. 

·        Checking applications received to check that we’ve got everything we need and notify the public and organisations about it.  

·        Provide information and advice, communicating with customers and members via phone, email and post. 

·        Organise and support online & face to face meetings and events including creating PowerPoint presentations. 

·        Monitor and deal with service area post, ensuring it is correctly scanned and recorded. 

 

We are looking for a confident administrator who is keen and quick to learn. You will need to be self-motivated with a good team spirit and able to progress tasks without close supervision. Excellent communication skills are vital for this role allowing you to deal with a range of people politely and tactfully. You will need a good level of numeracy and literacy, and as all tasks are dealt with electronically, you will need to be IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft products.
