Salary: £41,042 - £44,296 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Permanent

As an Environmental Health Officer or Technical Officer within the housing service you will be supporting the continuous improvement of the private housing sector across Central Bedfordshire. Private Sector Housing, which includes Housing Assistance (grants and loans), housing enforcement and licensing team. The team is ambitious and looking to improve the health and well-being of all residents within Central Bedfordshire.
The successful candidate will have a broad and complex caseload and will represent the service in a multidisciplinary team being responsible for undertaking all PSH functions to ensure our residents are living in safe and healthy homes.

Your role will cover the whole remit of PSH enforcement functions, focusing on all Renters Rights Act, Illegal evictions, HHSRS, HMO Licensing, Public Health inc Filthy and Verminous premises, Prevention of Damage by Pests and some Stat Nuisance.
To meet the requirements of this exciting role you must have experience in housing enforcement, public health, HMO licensing, court and tribunal attendance and demonstrate you have experience working as a Housing Enforcement Officer.
