Salary: £53,861 - £57,328 per annum pro rata
Hours: 30 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid – Fixed term until 26th February 2026

More about the role:

The Joint Commissioning Manager role sits across Central Bedfordshire Council and the NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (BLMK ICB). The role is responsible for leading a portfolio of integrated commissioning work relating to children and young people. There will be a particular focus on children with special educational needs and disabilities, autism, and therapies.

 

The post-holder will work with stakeholders in the health and social care system in Central Bedfordshire to improve services and pathways for local children and young people. You will be expected to take the lead on reviewing existing integrated services, prioritising areas for improvement and delivering change. Partnership working and being confident influencing stakeholders is crucial is a vital part of the role.

 

The post-holder will support the development of an up to date joint commissioning plan and will lead on delivering strategic planning and analysis and work collaboratively to develop and implement integrated commissioning strategies. You will also be responsible for oversight and monitoring of integrated service provision.


What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced commissioner who is passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families to join our Childrens Strategic Commissioning team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable knowledge of legislation relating to children and young people, and in particular, knowledge of services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

 

You will be able to work collaboratively across the system and develop positive relationships with stakeholders to inform commissioning strategies and service development. The post-holder will need to be proactive and able to manage multiple workstreams across childrens social care and health.
