Salary: £25,989 - £26,403 per annum
Hours: 16 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Fixed Term until 31st March 2027

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and committed Care Experienced Practitioner to join our service and help improve outcomes for children and young people with lived experience of care.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the ‘family business’ and play a key role in shaping services, amplifying the voice of care-experienced individuals, and supporting positive change across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with young people, professionals, and partners to ensure services are responsive, inclusive, and trauma informed.
- Build trusting, meaningful relationships with care-experienced children and young people.
- Advocate for the voices, views, and lived experiences of those in care and care leavers.
- Co-produce service improvements, policies, and initiatives with young people.
- Support participation activities, forums, interviews and engagement events.
- Work alongside multi-agency partners to promote best practice and positive outcomes.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on working effectively with care-experienced individuals.
- Contribute to quality assurance, service development, and feedback processes.
We are looking for someone who is:
- An individual with lived experience of care from Central Bedfordshire Council.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for care-experienced individuals.
- Skilled in communication, engagement, and relationship-building.
- Knowledgeable about trauma-informed practice and safeguarding.
- Able to work collaboratively across services and influence positive change.
- Organised, self-motivated, and adaptable.
