Base Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford.You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Central Bedfordshire Council as a Placement and Contracting Officer within the Brokerage Team.
The Brokerage Team supports Adult Social Care in ensuring people are provided with personalised, safe, appropriate and cost-effective care packages. This team is pivotal in co-ordination of referrals and support to people and families.
This role makes placements on behalf of Care Management to identify suitable options for adults with a learning disability and/or physical disability including supported living, residential, nursing and respite care. This is achieved through established frameworks, known “spot” providers and also sourcing new providers when necessary. The successful candidate will ensure all contractual matters in arranging a placement are agreed with all relevant parties, recorded/authorised as appropriate and maintained during the placement period. You will be supporting people who receive services and their families to ensure that they are aware of the financial aspects of moving to accommodation-based support or receiving respite. You will be liaising with providers regularly regarding vacancies, waiting lists and fee rates whilst working closely with Care Management and Commissioning colleagues. The team also supports with fee increases and invoicing concerns.
Some travel may be required to other sites.
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting vulnerable adults. You will have good communication skills; have experience of working with the public ideally in a social service environment but not essential as full training will be given. Previous experience of working with care providers would be desirable.
Be financially literate, organised and have a calm and professional manner to all aspects of the role. An excellent telephone manner is very important.
