Programme Manager

Team:  Business Improvement, Resources & Organisational Change 

Job Family: CBG13 - Providing 

Salary: £49,875 - £53,861 per annum pro rata

Hours: 37 hours per week  

Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a minimum monthly basis, and otherwise as needed to carry out your role 

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the team 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person to join the Resources & Organisational Change, Business Improvement Team as a Programme Manager. The team provides oversight and delivery of the priority projects and programmes across the Council ensuring we have a coherent and coordinated plan to implement change.  

 

 

About the role 

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager with experience of managing in a Local Authority environment. Can you plan, co-ordinate and support delivery of multiple projects/workstreams as part of a high profile, high priority programme in support of our statutory duties? 

 

The jobholder will report into the Head of Performance & Business Improvement and be primarily responsible for oversight of the Council’s SEND Transformation Programme and its associated projects and workstreams, including the Change Programme Partnership (CPP) as part of Central Government Initiatives. This post is jointly funded with the Integrated Care Board (ICB). 

 

The job holder will be a highly motivated self-starter, with a keen attention to detail, able to work independently and relish working in a complex environment. You will provide line management to a Project Management Team, working with diverse groups of wider stakeholders across the council (including: HR, Finance, Communications, SEND, Performance), supporting the delivery of programme outcomes.  

 

It is essential that you have Programme Management Experience, and a demonstrable track record of transforming business requirements into measurable outcomes.  Ideally you will hold a recognised project qualification and have experience running projects and programmes within a local authority context. Experience of working in the Education / SEND sector, and with knowledge of Health is also desirable. You will lead and be responsible for the delivery of key programmes, consisting of multiple projects, including associated project documentation, governance, reporting and oversight at all times working flexibly with the wider team to ensure programme objectives and deliverables are met.
