Salary: £45,326 - £50,436 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent - Sponsorship is not available for this role

About the role:
Central Bedfordshire Council’s Information Technology service has a forward thinking approach to digital transformation, with an aim to drive a modern, efficient, and innovative local authority. We’re looking for an experienced SAP Support Officer to join our talented SAP team. Reporting to the IT Application Support Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting and enhancing our use of SAP S/4HANA and SAP SuccessFactors, ensuring our HR systems run smoothly and effectively across the Council.
- You will support and optimise the use of S/4HANA (including Payroll) and SuccessFactors (modules such as Employee Central, Recruitment, Performance & Goals, and Learning).
- Using your experience recommend and implement system improvements to enhance service delivery and user experience.
- The SAP team work collaboratively across IT, operations, projects, IT service desk and business teams.
- You will document and deliver clear processes, procedures, and solutions.
About you:
- You will think analytically and solve complex problems with confidence.
- Seek out and identify opportunities to make better use of SAP tools – including Joule, SAC, Fiori, and Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Speak and act with respect, kindness and professionalism to others.
- Bring strong knowledge of HR processes in an enterprise environment.
- Have hands-on experience supporting and configuring SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors.
- A demonstrable familiarity with Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and/or BTP.
- Ideally you will have some exposure to working within Local Government would be beneficial.
