Salary: £43,920 - £48,872 per annum pro rata + £5,500 MRS per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid- Permanent

About the role:
As a result of the merger of the council's Estates Team and FM Team, a single Corporate Landlord Service that is focused on the needs of customers has been established. In order to better support the council's ambition to be a great place to live and work, as well as to continue to drive down costs and enhance income potential, we have now redesigned the combined service, and filling our vacancies is a priority.
This will allow us to better support the council's ambitious goals.
With a commitment to fulfilling the council's external customer service standards for our internal building users, we have developed a North/South structure in order to improve our ability to respond to customers, councillors and building users.
Do you like working in a fast pace and challenging environment and have a passion for making a positive change within the community? Central Bedfordshire Council are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to work in the growing Minor Projects team.
The role will include all aspects of Building Surveying including design & specification, procurement, management of building contractors/ consultants, budget management and successful delivery of construction projects. This job offers real variety with no two days being the same.
To be considered for the role you will have a proven track record of providing Building Surveying services, be qualified to degree level and be a professional member of CIOB RICS, CABE or meet the full criteria for acquiring it.
The successful candidate must have a sound working knowledge of Planning/ Building Regulations, British Standards, construction building techniques, CDM & H&S regulations.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be an expert in managing your own workload. You will also need a good work ethic, even under pressure, be conscientious and hard-working and prepared to work as part of a team.
