Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Base Location: Working from home, you will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

More about the role:

It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,600+ Council-owned homes and properties with a growing Private Sector Property Management Portfolio.  The Housing Business team provide support to the whole of the Housing Service through the provision of high-quality system management and business admin.  Find your greatness as a Senior Housing Business Officer, our aim is to ensure our customers’ outcomes are at the centre of everything we do.

 

This is an interesting, varied and customer focused role, which allows the post holder to interact with all areas of the Housing Service, their customers and the wider Council. The team are responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support across the Housing service, assisting in the delivery of core business functions. The team are also responsible for the day to day running of the Housing Services’ in-house data base, with over 250 users, the system is fundamental to the smooth running of the service. 

 

We are looking to recruit a Senior Housing Business Officers, the focus of this role is to lead a team that provide administrative support to the Housing Service, you will be expected to carry out generic tasks but will also be responsible for specific areas of work.  The role is often called upon as a first point of call for help and admin support by Housing Officers, therefore the ability to prioritise workload and provide great customer service is essential.  Good communication and planning skills are essential to the success of this role along with a logical mind for problem solving. 

 

You should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of Housing Legislation, and the benefits/welfare system. Ideally you will be educated to Level 4 standard, but equally important are the skills you already have and the experience you can bring to the role, alongside your willingness to learn and adapt to changing demands.
