In Adult Social Care, we want every person in Central Bedfordshire to have responsive, customer-focused care and support – making this a great place to live and work. The role of the Support Co-ordinator is important for achieving this.
Sandy and Shefford supported living services are two of three services within the in-house Supported Living Provision. Sandy service consists of 6 self-contained flats and Shefford consists of 4 flats which 2 are single occupancy, and 2 are double occupancy, for adults with Learning Disabilities. Each customer has an allocated support package with a focus on developing skills and progression.
As a Support Co-ordinator, you will play a key part in ensuring that local and national guidance and requirements are adhered to. You will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting a team of Support Officers and you will be involved in monitoring the quality of the service, compiling rotas, planning, and implementing action plans and ensuring a high-quality service is always provided to our tenants. This is a varied role and frequent contact with our tenants is also maintained.
We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to make decisions and work under pressure. Experience of working in partnership with other professionals and agencies and an ability to recognise and respect the individuality of each customer is imperative.
Ideally, you will have proven experience of managing or supervising a team and supporting vulnerable customers. The role requires you to work every other weekend and to be able to work with a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
