Technical Officer

Team: Highway Maintenance – Asset Management

Job Family:  Supporting - CBG8
Salary: £30,060 - £32,801 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent

About the role:

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Officer to support our work in the Highways Asset Intelligence Team. 

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be confident dealing with customers, councillors and stakeholders both verbally and in writing. You will have experience using GIS software and attention to detail is critical when dealing with the legal aspect of this role. Knowledge of Public Rights of Way is preferable as you will support on aspects of Local Land Charge Searches for Highways, Rights of Way and Common Land and Village Greens and the processing of Public Paths Orders for Public Rights of Way pertaining to the Definitive Map. As part of the team, this role provides support and maintains Asset Records on a daily basis, making regular submissions to GeoPlace. You will also help in the processing of Highway Stopping up Orders, processing Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.

 

We have an innovative approach to asset management and value the use of technology to make key decisions about our Highway assets. You will therefore need to demonstrate good computer literacy skills and have an understanding of how to apply asset management software in the field. You will be involved in the implementation process for the new Highway Asset Management System and the authorities new Traffic Regulation Order software.
